Overview
About This Tour
The Serengeti's migration is not one event — it is a year-round cycle of birth, movement, and survival. This itinerary is timed to the migration's current position in its circuit, whether that is the dramatic calving season on the southern plains or the intense river crossings of the northern Serengeti. Nitin works with local trackers to position the group ahead of the herds for the most compelling photography opportunities.
Day by Day
Arrival in Arusha & Transfer
Fly into Kilimanjaro or Arusha, then onward flight to the Serengeti airstrip.
📷 Aerial photography opportunity during the bush flight.
Southern Plains (Calving Season)
Explore the short-grass plains where wildebeest calves are born by the thousands.
📷 Newborn calves standing for the first time — intimate, emotive imagery.
Predator Activity
Where prey concentrates, predators follow. Lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are at peak activity during calving.
📷 Cheetah hunts in wide-open grassland — unobstructed sight lines.
Central Serengeti Kopjes
Drive to the iconic kopjes — leopards rest here, lions survey from the top.
📷 Lion on a kopje against a wide sky — environmental portrait.
Grumeti River Area
Northern movement — the Grumeti crossing is less famous than the Mara but equally dramatic.
📷 Croc-infested river crossings with dramatic water spray.
Remote Western Corridor
Explore the remote, less-visited western Serengeti for uncrowded wildlife encounters.
📷 Unobstructed vehicle positioning — no competing traffic.
Ngorongoro Option
Optional day trip to the Ngorongoro Crater — the world's largest intact caldera and a photographic treasure.
📷 Black rhino, lion prides, and flamingo-filled lakes in a single frame.
Final Drive & Departure
Morning drive before afternoon flight back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro.
📷 Dawn light over the plains — final landscape work.
