Tadoba Wildlife Tour

Maharashtra's tiger heartland — India's finest tiger photography

Overview

Why Visit

Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra is widely regarded as one of India's best parks for Bengal tiger sightings and photography. With a healthy, growing tiger population in a relatively compact reserve, Tadoba offers sighting rates that rival even Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh. The teak forests and bamboo groves of Vidarbha create a distinctive landscape — warm amber and gold in the dry season, emerald in the monsoon fringes. Beyond tigers, Tadoba harbours leopard, dhole (Indian wild dog), sloth bear, gaur, and the rare Indian python.

Nitin's Tips

Experiencing Tadoba Wildlife Tour

Tadoba's tigers are relatively relaxed around vehicles — years of habituation mean they walk roads, cross waterholes, and rest in open clearings with remarkable frequency. Nitin focuses on the core Tadoba zone and Kolsa zone, which have the best road networks for flanking a tiger's direction of travel. The park's waterholes are critical in March–May (pre-monsoon) when wildlife concentrations peak — tigers, gaur, and deer all converge on the same water sources, creating layered wildlife compositions. A 500mm prime lens is Nitin's recommendation for forest tiger photography.
